Imagine the impact you as a business owner or leader can make by respecting, investing & directing. This public worship will have people talking. First it will have people talking about how they are treated and drive more business to you. Second it will have people talking about how they are treated and they may ask why you are different. Your worship of God through your work will bear witness to the gift you have been given through Christ in your own salvation. Sing it from the rooftops!

Now, get ready to be part of the revolution by applying biblical truths to your work with Holy Profits Radio, hosted by me, Bradley Waldrop. Well, good morning, and welcome to the show.
We are here at this week's show, and I'm working on very little sleep. We're sleep-deprived here today because I was in Atlanta last night, and I got home around 2 o'clock this morning. So only about 3 hours of sleep, but wow, am I excited about what happened yesterday! I have never participated in anything on TV before. However, yesterday, I got a chance to work with the folks over at Atlanta Live on channel 57. The interview that I did with them will re-air on Monday morning at 7 o'clock. If you're interested in viewing it as it streams on their website, you can go to watc.tv and view it online.
As soon as I get the electronic copy of that interview, I'm going to post it on Facebook, our website at holyProfitsradio.com, and our YouTube channel so you can take a look at it. I was really blessed by the experience. I've never been part of anything like that. This is a total God story for me because, a year ago, I was a recovering civil engineer in the corporate world. Never imagined I would be on the radio, let alone on television.
In the period of a year, I've had a chance to do both. What's also amazing about this is that we are truly international. We now have listeners in Ho Chi Minh City, Kuala Lumpur, and Great Britain. That is a story in and of itself. If you know individuals linked to Facebook or your own website who might benefit from this show, I highly recommend you send them to our Facebook page. Have them like us to get our updates or visit our website. The Facebook page is facebook.com/holyProfits, and the website is holyProfitsradio.com. It's amazing what God is doing with this show, and it is His show.
I wake up every week trying to figure out what to put together for this show, and He delivers a message that is both a blessing to me and hopefully a blessing to the rest of you. This week, we're going to talk about public worship in and by the business. Last week, we talked about how silence builds complacency. If you missed that, you can get it online. It hasn't been posted yet, but I will get both last week's and this week's shows up for everyone to hear before Monday.
This show today is about public worship in and by the business. What's interesting about this for me is that I grew up a Lutheran kid. For those who know me, that means I went to church religiously on Sunday. I participated in the youth group, confirmation, and sang hymns. I thought that was worship. However, I found something completely different in my life and have looked at how to apply it to business.
In the corporate world, I worked for a large engineering firm doing environmental design and construction management. When someone made partner, there was a strange ritual. They were encouraged to buy expensive things, like a Porsche and a Rolex. We were worshipping stuff and caught up in the same greed and idolatry that biblical characters struggled with. It wasn't a good way to provide worship back to God.
Today, we’ll be in Psalms. Psalms is a book of poems that details the national history of the Jewish people, records life experiences, and predicts future events. Many psalms are poems of praise and worship. Psalm 18, written by David, expresses gratitude for God delivering him from his enemies. This Psalm gives us a formula for understanding God's role in our lives.
Verses 46-49 highlight seven main principles: God is alive, a rock, an avenger, a subduer, a deliverer, an encourager, and a rescuer. God is real and active in our lives. He is our rock, a firm foundation and an anchor. He avenges evil and puts people in their right place. He delivers us from temptation and threats. He encourages us through His great sacrifice. He rescues us in times of trouble.
When we understand these principles, we want to be thankful. Worship is when the condition of the heart overcomes your actions. It’s when the love you receive manifests in what you do. Worship leaders at church facilitate this ability for you to show your appreciation. Are you a good singer? It doesn't matter. Worship comes from the heart, not just from singing.
After the break, we’ll discuss practical ways to worship in your business. It’s not about singing and dancing in the aisles, unless you want to, but there are real things you can do daily to provide worship and build your business. Stay with us.

Bradley Waldrop:
Welcome back to Holy Profits Radio. Before the break, we talked about worship and how it can seem hard to worship at work. Singing and dancing in the hallway or playing Christian music is fine, but if it doesn't come from the heart, it doesn’t mean much. So, what can we do? I boiled it down into three things: respect, invest, and direct.
Respect: Show the love of God to your employees. Recognize that God has gifted you with employees who have the right skills to accomplish your mission. Pay them fairly, equip them for success, and recognize their contributions daily. Simply saying thank you acknowledges that God has delivered these individuals to perform a service for you.
Invest: Provide training for your employees and become emotionally invested in their success. Build personal relationships with them. Understand their lives outside of work and support them through distractions.
Direct: Provide coaching and mentoring. Coaching involves daily guidance and correction, refining skills and character traits. Mentoring offers a bigger picture, helping employees with career decisions and providing wisdom from experience.
The same principles apply in reverse for employees towards their supervisors. Respect means fair work for fair pay, showing up on time, and respecting the rules. Invest emotionally and be fully engaged at work. Understand and resonate with the mission, vision, and core values of the organization.
Respect, invest, and direct also apply to vendors and customers. Communicate clearly with vendors, provide grace, pay promptly, and help them succeed outside your business. For customers, offer fair value, help solve their problems, and educate them.
If your calling is in business, you can worship God through how you treat your employees, supervisors, vendors, and customers. Respect, invest, and direct them. Imagine going to work each day, knowing your actions provide worship to God for the gifts He has given you.
Next week, we will look at practical applications of God's word in your work. We have an amazing interview with a 12-year-old and his parents from Scaly Adventures, part of Boundless Limits Ministry. It's an inspiring story of a program gone global almost overnight. Don’t miss that next week.
