Have you ever wanted to actively live out your faith at work? How about wanting to change the culture at the office to improve moral – decrease turnover & engender trust? Well, that’s exactly what Jamie Gilbert of Custom Pallet has done!
We had a great time interviewing Jamie at his office. During our visit we heard about his recent mission trip and we got a first-hand look at what practical things can be done to help build a business of integrity. During our discussion, Jamie suggested that if you are on the fence – not knowing what to do – just do something!
For Jamie, it started over 15-years ago when he contracted with Corporate Chaplains of America and it has improved since! Some of the practical things that Jamie does include:
- Weekly bible studies – just when they weren’t sure if anyone would show, God delivered 40! This is one thing that Jamie would like to make sure continues – even after he is no longer at the helm.
- An employee-managed benevolence fund – a discretionary fund to “love their neighbors as themselves”. Here, their neighbors are their co-workers in need. Employees voluntarily contribute $14,000 per year!
- Corporate Chaplains of America – a great resource and the only person in the office that doesn’t want something out of the employee. They simply want a relationship!
While he isn’t currently active in C12 – Jamie sees a direct link to his workplace ministry and the concepts they discuss while he was active. Watch Jamie’s interview here – I hope that it encourages you the way it has encouraged me!
